Gregory A. Davis

Senior Associate

Gregory Davis focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in federal and state courts including multidistrict litigation. He has substantial experience in a wide range of litigation matters arising out of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including claims arising under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act and other state and federal statutes.

Gregory has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of disputes including breach of contract, fraud, interference with contractual relations, unfair competition and other commercial matters. He also represents employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters involving such issues as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge and wage and hour law.

In addition, Gregory has experience in arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. He also volunteers for pro bono matters and has successfully petitioned for asylum on behalf of a number of indigent clients.

Gregory is a co-author of “Facilitating Financial Transactions in the Age of Internet Gambling: Compliance with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act” in the July/August 2009 issue of The Banking Law Journal.

    • Successfully asserting claims on behalf of commercial real estate owners and lenders against defaulting tenants, borrowers and guarantors.
    • Defending successfully numerous mortgage lenders against claims for unfair lending practices and wrongful foreclosure.
    • Defending successfully multiple employers against claims for discrimination based on age, race and gender.
    • Defending successfully an international mining conglomerate against wrongful death and other tort claims arising out of an accidental mine explosion and collapse.
    • Defending successfully the former CFO of a large medical device company in a US$55 million fraud action, recovering nearly US$1 million in attorneys’ fees and costs.
    • Defending several complex commercial claims involving Automated Clearing House transactions and application of NACHA rules.
    • Representing a leading power equipment supplier in a matter alleging subcontractor fraud, delay, cardinal change and subcontractor default.
    • Defending a large Japan-based tire manufacturer in numerous cases relating to allegedly defective tires.
    • Representing a large book publisher and movie producer in a dispute regarding trademark infringement, trademark dilution and violations of the Lanham Act.
    • Defending a global provider of enterprise server appliances in an action alleging patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation.
    • Representing a patent holder in multidistrict litigation concerning interactive call processing.
