Gerry Peyton

Director of HRPlus

Gerry Peyton is director of HRPlus, the HR consultancy arm of Squire Sanders. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (FCIPD) and he has more than 22 years experience in human resource management, business and consulting.

Gerry has worked in financial services, professional services, education, housing and the NHS. His expertise covers human resource management, employee and industrial relations, organisation development, total reward and executive coaching. Gerry is expert in employee relations matters, collective and union consultation and negotiation, and he is a trained and accredited executive coach.

Gerry leads HRPlus a human resources consultancy consisting of experienced HR professionals with skills and experiences gained in a wide range of business sectors. Working closely with the legal teams in Squire Sanders they provide advice that is sophisticated and legally robust.

Gerry’s aim is to provide a professional, cost-effective and commercially focused HR consulting service that is relevant to client’s circumstances. He and his team have helped many clients achieve key business objectives and solve business problems that have caused them to perform below their potential.

Gerry is an active participant in the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) and he has been appointed as an assessor for the development of HR professionals in the CIPD. Gerry has spoken at several high profile seminars about human resources and employee engagement.

Representative Experience

    • Supporting the formulation and implementation of major changes at the following organizations:
      • UK national GovCo - supported and advised on a major transformation programme;
      • International automotive company - supported a major change to benefits and pensions in the UK;
      • US based sales organisation - managed the closure of a service centre;
      • Hotel and leisure companies - managed the restructuring of the service centres for two major companies.
    • Advising on various industrial relations trouble-shooting assignments for an international chemical manufacturer and for the hi-tech arm of a global financial services organisation.
    • Handling various employee relations investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters.
    • Conducting diversity benchmarking and training for a variety of clients.
    • Reward and Job Evaluation:
      • Strategic reward review for a semi-public sector body;
      • Job evaluation review and implementation for a housing trust.
