Gabriel A. Dejarden González

Senior Associate

Gabriel Dejarden González focuses his practice on corporate finance, real estate and hospitality, and regulated industries. He is also regularly involved in labor and employment and corporate law matters. Gabriel represents multinational clients regarding business interests and investments in the Dominican Republic, primarily in the financial services and tourism sectors, as well as in the retail and aviation industries. He provides ongoing advice on commercial, lender/borrower and hospitality-related matters including the drafting and negotiation of complex agreements such as international distribution contracts, and loan and security agreements. He also serves as coordinator of the law clerk program of the firm's Santo Domingo office.

Gabriel is a member of the Latin American & Caribbean Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law, Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic, International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), Union Internationale des Avocats and Willem C. Vis Moot Alumni Association.

Representative Experience

    • Representing a major Dominican Republic-based bank in drafting and negotiating complex transactional documents related to the approval of a US$38 million loan to a high-end tourist project on the eastern side of the Dominican Republic.
    • Advising a high-end tourist project in the drafting and negotiation of the documentation necessary to secure a US$15 million asset-backed loan.
    • Assisting non-Dominican Republic corporate and individual clients in the acquisition of real estate for tourism development and personal leisure.
    • Providing counsel to a diplomatic delegation and various Fortune 500 companies concerning social security and labor law matters.
    • Providing counsel in the acquisition of a Dominican Republic-based packaging company by a major US-based packaging manufacturer.
    • Providing counsel to a non-Dominican Republic entity for the establishment of an offshore financial center in the Dominican Republic.
    • Representing Fortune and Global 500 companies in agency and distribution issues including the drafting, negotiation and enforcement of agreements under the DR-CAFTA Treaty and Dominican Agent/Distributor Protection Law No. 173.
    • Representing a Fortune 500 investment bank in connection with various securities and banking law matters in the Dominican Republic.
