Dr. Frank Walter-von Gierke is of counsel in our Corporate Transaction, Finance & Governance practice based in our Berlin office. He has more than 20 years of experience as a corporate and finance attorney with a focus on insolvency and restructuring matters, including corporate reorganizations, the restructuring of debt securities and the representation of creditors of distressed companies and of investors in such companies.

His work involves the representation of a diverse range of businesses - from financial institutions to mid cap companies and Insolvency Administrators in big litigation cases, both on domestic and cross-border level. In addition to several management positions within the firm over the last ten years he served as a CEO of a private equity vehicle and holds several boards positions in various companies: Therefore Frank brings a unique business perspective to his practise which is well appreciated by the firm's clients.

He led the restructuring of various companies, implemented turnaround initiatives as well as the refinancing of real estate acquisitions, negotiated debt to equity swaps including debt restructuring and non-performing loan (NPL) work and orchestrated the exit of the clients once the restructuring of the targets was successful. His experience also includes factoring, receivables finance and asset-based lending structures.
