Francesca Fellowes

Associate

Francesca Fellowes’ practice covers both commercial and intellectual property work. She has substantial experience in all aspects of non-contentious commercial work and specialises in both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work. She also has a specialist knowledge of data protection law and in particular, advising on the compliance aspects of and project-managing multi-jurisdictional projects for global clients.

Francesca trained at media & entertainment law firm, Harbottle & Lewis in London and has been at Squire Sanders since qualification in 2001.

Francesca has had articles published by Packaging News (“Combating Copycat Packaging”) and Lexology (“Avoiding the Information Commissioner’s New Bite”) and has been quoted in the Yorkshire Post.

Representative Experience

  • Acting for a major investment management company in relation to a dispute regarding the ownership of the copyright in all of their client-facing materials;
  • Acting for National Oilwell Varco Inc., worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and sale of equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations and the provision of oilfield services, in relation to the prosecution of a company for possession of counterfeit parts;
  • Advising a global medical devices manufacturer in relation to the data protection aspects of a product recall;
  • Advising a local authority in relation to a dispute with its exiting service provider regarding the ownership of the intellectual property in a number of software applications;
  • Drafting a bespoke Manufacturing Agreement for a chemicals manufacturer;
  • Reviewing and reporting on Standard Terms and Conditions of Purchase for a global provider of wireless coverage solutions.
  • Advising Cummins Inc., a global engineering and power solutions provider headed-up in the US, on data protection compliance in relation to the consolidation of the servers of 12 of their European offices onto servers in the US and UK. Managing the legal compliance for their in-house counsel.
