Fiona Goodman

Associate

Fiona joined the Birmingham Office’s Labour and Employment team in March 2010 following the completion of her training contract with the firm. Fiona advises on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious UK employment law and has also been responsible for devising and delivering training courses for clients and contacts.

Fiona is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, is closely involved in the firm’s "Business in the Community" initiatives and also provides pro-bono advice at the Birmingham Legal Advice Clinic.

Prior to completing her training contract, Fiona spent a year working as a legal assistant in the firm’s Pensions department.

Representative Experience

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day running of Tribunal Claims (Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Unlawful Deduction of Wages, Breach of Contract, all aspects of discrimination under the Equality Act 2010).
  • Drafting correspondence, Response Forms, witness statements, Counter Schedules of Loss, Instructions to Counsel, organising and completing disclosure and carrying out settlement discussions with ACAS and drafting COT3 agreements.
  • Drafting and advising on contracts of employment, policies and compromise agreements.
  • A four month secondment at a leading global technical assurance and consultancy company, advising and assisting with strategic HR issues.
