Please join Squire, Sanders & Dempsey for our “Legal Update on Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation Law,” taking place September 28 in our Columbus office. Discrimination and retaliation claims continue to rise in light of the current economy. In fact, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reported a record-breaking number of claims in 2010. The US Supreme Court recently rejected certification for a massive class action gender discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart, and the legislature is considering a bill prohibiting discrimination based on unemployment.
Squire Sanders lawyers Susan M. DiMickele and Tara A. Aschenbrand will discuss:
- Recent court decisions and legislation
- Practical implications of and guidance on recent legal decisions for employers
The program will conclude with a Q & A session.
