Élisette Leite Senior Associate

Élisette Leite is a senior associate working with the litigation and international dispute resolution practices. Her legal practice encompasses activity within commercial law, civil law, employment law, arbitration and alternative means of dispute settlement.

Élisette is specifically responsible for Portugal-, Brazil- and Spain-based clients of our legal practice. Her native language is Portuguese and she has spent two years in Madrid, Spain.

She trained as a CMAP mediator, enabling her to acquire the skills necessary to carry out effective mediations, acting as a party to mediations and a CMAP mediator.

Élisette also worked as legal counsel for two years for a design and communications company.

Élisette is a member of the Française d'Arbitrage (AFA) and also of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Representative Experience

• Advocating in several major international arbitrations including ICC administered cases and arbitration including acting on behalf of a France-based company against a UK-based company and in sudden breach of commercial relationships according to article L 442-6-I 5 of the French Commercial code for wrongful termination of a distribution agreement.
• Advising on criminal proceedings against an employee in the media.
• Advising on employment contract disputes including breach of noncompete agreements.
• Advising on unfair methods of competition in business and breach of exclusivity.
• Advising on various commercial mediation proceedings.
