Eligiusz J. Krześniak

Eligiusz Krześniak’s practice focuses on telecommunications and media, information technology and intellectual property matters. He has been involved with some of the largest projects in those areas in recent years in Poland. He has played key roles in a variety of major M&A transactions, particularly in the telecoms and media sectors. Eligiusz has been the lead lawyer on a number of projects regarding the acquisition of enterprises and the assembly, service and licensing of computer systems for banks, insurance companies and suppliers of computer and telecommunications equipment.

Eligiusz is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars and the author of numerous articles published in legal magazines and newspapers in Poland. He is also the author and co-author of six books on telecommunications and commercial laws in Poland, Germany and the United States.

From 2009 he served as vice chair of the Supervisory Board of PKO Bank Polski S.A., the largest bank in Poland and one of the top CEE financial institutions. Eligiusz is a member of the Warsaw Bar of Advocates’ Commission for Advocate Bar Training and the Commission on Foreign Contacts of the Supreme Advocates’ Council. He acts as mediator at the Center for Economic Mediation at the Polish Arbitration Association and as an arbitrator at the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan.

Representative Experience

    • Advising on a transaction involving the takeover of telecommunications operators active in Poland’s market.
    • Advising a leading Spain-based global renewable energy company operating in the wind energy sector on various corporate and regulatory matters.
    • Representing a private equity investor in a venture capital investment in a nationwide cable operator.
    • Acting as lead lawyer in negotiations on behalf of a leading global IT company in agreements for Lukas Bank S.A. regarding the assembly, service and licensing of a computer system.
    • Advising a leading global consumer goods retailer on a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and negotiations with a mobile operator making its network available.
    • Representing and advising Poland-based operators in numerous transactions and projects including MVNOs and mobile television in digital video broadcasting – handheld (DVB-H) standards.
