Ed Johnson is a project finance partner in the firm's London office, with a particular focus on public-private partnerships (PPP) and infrastructure development projects.

Ed has acted for public and private sector clients on a range of large scale domestic and international PPP projects with a focus on the health, transport, education and defence sectors. He has particular experience with infrastructure projects in the health sector with transactions in primary care (NHS LIFT) and acute/general hospitals procured under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI).

Ed advises on all aspects of PPP projects including procurement strategy, project structures, construction/operation & maintenance/facilities management contracts and all associated lending and security agreements.

Ed is recognised by Legal 500 for PFI/PPP projects.

Representative Experience

• Advising Community Solutions on NHS LIFT Projects in Barnsley, Bury, Camden & Islington, Doncaster and South East Hampshire.
• Advising the private sector participants on each of the NHS Express LIFT Projects procured under the Express LIFT National Framework at Cumbria and West Sussex.
• Advising Compass UK on the Ministry of Defence £3 billion PPP project at the Royal School of Military Engineering.
• Advising Compass UK on the £350m Greater Peterborough NHS Hospital PFI Project.
