Erinn M. Contreras

Associate

Erinn Contreras focuses her litigation practice on employment litigation including discrimination and wage and hour matters. She has extensive experience representing employers in wage and hour class actions, from the inception of the case through trial preparation. Erinn has also managed employment discrimination cases from their inception through resolution.

Erinn’s experience spans several other substantive areas including commercial, class action, products liability, ERISA, insurance matters and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy. She has also worked on construction defect cases involving several parties. Her experience has included litigation in California state and federal courts.

Erinn’s focus on general labor and employment matters includes representing employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing. In particular, she has defended employers against claims of discrimination based on gender, race and age, and against claims of wrongful termination. In conjunction with her litigation practice, Erinn regularly advises employers on a range of employment issues to minimize the risk of litigation through proactive compliance.

Representative Experience

    • Obtaining summary judgment in favor of an employer in a disability discrimination case.
    • Negotiating and procuring the settlement of an employment discrimination lawsuit against a large multinational business.
    • Negotiating and procuring a favorable settlement for the plaintiff in a breach of contract case.
    • Serving on a trial team that obtained a jury verdict for a commercial plaintiff and a counterclaim defendant involved in an international contract dispute.
    • Procuring the dismissal of a lawsuit by a primary insurance carrier against an excess insurance carrier.
