David A. Landman

Associate

David Landman’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. He has represented clients in federal and state court on a wide range of matters at both the trial and appellate level. His experience includes business and securities litigation, accounting malpractice defense, false advertising and counterfeit Lanham Act cases, internal investigations, board of director representation and First Amendment matters.

David has significant experience in consumer class action defense as well.

David is on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Big Brother Big Sister Association of Cleveland and the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association and New York Bar Association. He is also a member of Squire Sanders’ Rules Committee.

Representative Experience

    • Obtaining a favorable settlement for a large national bank in defense of a consumer class action lawsuit relating to interest rates charged on retail loans.
    • Representing a national fitness club chain in defense of a nationwide consumer class action relating to the club's membership cancellation policies.
    • Representing a multinational public accounting firm in defense of a US$10 billion accounting malpractice claim.
    • Defending the directors of a large public corporation in a stock options backdating shareholder derivative lawsuit and class action lawsuit.
    • Representing a senior executive of a global advertising agency in a breach of contract claim.
    • Representing a multinational pharmaceutical company in successfully obtaining injunctions against counterfeit drug manufacturers around the world pursuant to the Lanham Act.
    • Representing a consortium of nonprofit voter registration organizations in successfully obtaining an injunction in federal court in Florida finding a state voter registration law unconstitutional.
