US Communications Regulation

In the United States, Squire Sanders’ communications lawyers assist clients on specific business transactions and in policy-oriented proceedings before the US Federal Communications Commission, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, the Office of the US Trade Representative, the Department of Homeland Security, the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the US Department of Transportation and its Federal Aviation Administration, the US Department of State, the Office of Management and Budget, the International Trade Administration and the Federal Trade Commission.

Drawing on our resources in Washington DC, we have a legislative practice that focuses on communications issues that come before the US Congress and Executive Branch. We were actively involved, on behalf on multiple clients, during the debate leading to the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and remain actively involved in congressional efforts to adopt new telecommunications legislation. Our lawyers assist clients in an array of legislative matters by preparing testimony, appearing before congressional committees and actively influencing the content of federal legislation. We also represent our clients on legal and policy matters in the courts and regulatory proceedings in state public utility commissions.
