Healthcare Reform

The US healthcare reform legislation of 2010 introduced significant changes to the country’s healthcare and other industries. Although most business leaders have a general knowledge of the reform legislation, many are beginning to ask, “What does this mean for our businesses?”

The new laws impact care providers, insurance companies, pharmaceutical and medical device businesses, and employers, with changes ranging from strengthened fraud prevention measures and the expansion of state Medicaid programs to an increased focus on healthcare technology and the introduction of state-based exchanges for individual insurance. Expanded access to healthcare will be implemented and paid for through new mandates, fees, healthcare payment reform, insurance exchanges and incentives.
