During his more than 25 years with Squire Sanders, Craig Woods has tried, litigated, arbitrated, mediated or otherwise resolved an unusually wide variety of disputes and other client matters in Ohio and throughout the rest of the United States. He has significant experience in general commercial, director and officer liability, professional liability, product liability, environmental, intellectual property, real estate and personal injury cases. He is also highly experienced in internal corporate investigations, regulatory enforcement actions, professional ethics inquiries and alternative dispute resolution matters.
Craig currently serves as a practice leader for the Squire Sanders product liability practice and the account manager for our membership in the DuPont Primary Law Firm Network. He and his client service teammates were recently recognized by DuPont for exemplary service in several litigation matters. He also helps lead a national product liability team for TRW Automotive. Craig belongs to several national, state and local bar associations and committees, and he has been appointed as a mediator for the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio. He also serves as Ethics Partner and Loss Prevention Counsel to Squire Sanders. He is active in his community and pro bono endeavors including the Olentangy Rotary Club, Lawyers for Justice and the Olentangy Education Foundation.
Craig has been AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell for many years and is listed in the most recent editions of Ohio Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America and The Legal 500 US.

- Winning a complete defense verdict for a major automotive component manufacturer in a wrongful death/product liability action tried to a jury in South Carolina, and successfully resolving numerous other automotive product liability cases throughout the United States.
- Obtaining a declaratory and specific performance judgment confirming a prominent biological science company’s ownership of and rights to an important genetic patent, then successfully defending the judgment before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
- Winning a US$10.4 million eminent domain award for a private water utility.
- Successfully defending a large Ohio-based law firm in a multimillion-dollar malpractice/breach of fiduciary duty action.
- Trying a breach of fiduciary duty case against the directors and officers of a failed savings and loan company and recovering US$21.5 million.
- Defeating a patent infringement action brought against a biotech company.
- Successfully prosecuting/defending CERCLA/VAP private cost recovery actions and successfully defeating a Clean Water Act case against a large US city.
