Donald T. Bucklin focuses his practice on civil and white collar criminal litigation, commercial mediations and arbitrations. Don is a veteran defense lawyer. From 1985 to 2004 he was a partner in the firm and chair of the firm’s White Collar Criminal Practice Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Don worked as an assistant US attorney for the District of Columbia. He has also served as an independent counsel appointed pursuant to the Ethics in Government Act. He has worked as senior counsel to the US Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs, Special Investigation into Campaign Finance Abuses, chaired by Senator Fred Thompson.
Don is a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and past chair of the DC Committee. He has been listed in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America since 1983 and as a Washington DC Super Lawyer each year since 2008. In the 2010 edition Don is once again listed for commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense. He is a past president of both the District of Columbia Bar Association and Assistant United States Attorney Association. First elected in 2002 Don was re-elected in 2005 as a foundation trustee of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. He has served as a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association and, for several years, as a voting member of the US Judicial Conference for the District of Columbia Circuit. Don also serves as a member of the Advisory Committee on Local Rules for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
In 2009 Don joined the McCammon Group as an arbitrator and mediator.
