Daniel French

Partner

Daniel French is a Partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group based in our Birmingham office. Daniel joined Squire Sanders in 2001 and was promoted to partner in 2010. His particular expertise covers noncontentious insolvency and business restructuring advice to insolvency practitioners, institutional lenders and major corporations. Daniel has experience in distressed business sales, with a particular interest in real property issues arising within an insolvency context.

Daniel is ranked by Chambers and Partners as “making an excellent impression upon the market”, popular with clients for his “sound experience with property aspects of insolvency” and “ability to turn things around quickly.” Daniel is well regarded for his particular specialism in real estate-related insolvency.

    • Advising PricewaterhouseCoopers as administrators of Adams Childrenswear Limited in dealing with the disposal of a £100 million turnover business as a going concern, including advising in relation to the disposal of a portfolio of 120 trading outlets.
    • Advising PKF as administrators of Metal Pressings Group Limited, a major West Midlands manufacturing business.
    • Advising Grant Thornton as administrators of Observer Standard Newspapers on the disposal of several newspaper publications, together with the trading premises.
    • Advising KPMG as administrators of Octavian Limited, a gambling software business, operating in multiple jurisdictions, on the disposal of its complex IP rights and business as a going concern.
    • Advising administrators on the disposal of a £6 million office block in Gloucestershire.
    • Advising administrators on the disposal of a £2 million partially-complete mixed use development in Bristol.
    • Advising Deloitte as the administrators of Oddbins Limited in connection with the disposal of the business as a going concern and in managing the staged disposal of the Company's nationwide portfolio of stores.
    • Advising BDO as the administrators of Perfect Pizza Limited, the UK's fourth largest pizza delivery business, which operated a nationwide franchise business of over 110 outlets.
