Vladimira Novak Papirnik

Vladimira Papirnik is the managing partner of the firm’s Prague office. She focuses her international business practice on banking, project finance and corporate law. Her corporate practice covers mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate governance issues.

Ms. Papirnik has more than 20 years of experience representing financial institutions in international transactions. Her banking practice has been focused on representing banks in connection with numerous lending transactions – among them, project finance, commercial paper programs, secured and unsecured lines of credit, multicurrency revolving credit and term loan agreements with bid facilities, banker acceptances and letter of credit facilities. She also represents parties in nuclear fuel financings and waste-to-energy projects.

Ms. Papirnik has worked on a number of banking and corporate projects. She has advised clients on structuring a management buyout and represented another client on a GDR issue. She has also represented a Czech export credit agency in its first international borrowing and continues to regularly represent the bank in its lending capacity in export credit transactions. Ms. Papirnik represents a number of borrowers in the Czech Republic and international markets and has advised lenders on several innovative project financings and real estate refinancings.

In November 2006 Ms. Papirnik was named the eighth most influential businesswoman in the Czech Republic in an article in Hospodářské Noviny. She was recommended by Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers as a leader in corporate/mergers and acquisitions. Practical Law Company’s Which lawyer? Yearbook also recommends her in that area and in banking and finance. PLC’s Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions Handbook and Chambers Europe named her a leader in the field of M&A in the Czech Republic. Ms. Papirnik was also named a practice area expert in European Legal Experts.

Významné transakce

  • Representing banks providing over US$400 million in the first true project financing in the Czech Republic.
  • Advising the Revitalization Agency, an entity set up by the Czech government to deal with the restructuring of companies in serious difficulties and unable to service their debt, in connection with its organization and management services agreement.
