Stephen Nelson’s practice focuses on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions including joint ventures. He undertakes all aspects of corporate transactions including financing and corporate recovery situations. Stephen has worked extensively in Russia, CIS, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia on a wide range of transactions. He has recently handled transactions in areas such as agrochemicals, metals and mining, energy, telecoms and technology, but also has experience in manufacturing and hotel businesses. Stephen also deals with a number of corporate and structuring aspects of project finance and has recently worked on alternative finance schemes including tax-based financing schemes (TIFs/ADZ).
Stephen is identified as an authority in London on insolvency and corporate reconstruction in UK Legal Experts each year from 2003 to 2007. He is also recognized for his mergers and acquisitions practice in The Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom.
Stephen frequently lectures on issues relating to corporate law, financing and restructuring.
