Charmian Johnson is a partner in our Pensions practice based in our Manchester office. Charmian has extensive experience of advising companies and trustees on a diverse range of pension issues including Section 75 debts and their management, scheme documentation issues and costs and legislation-driven exercises involving merging and restructuring pension schemes. Her main specialism is advising in respect of defined benefit pension arrangements, in recent times focussing on a range of deficit management strategies.
Charmian is an accessible and approachable partner and has been described in the past by Chambers as being commended for her professionalism and for "excellently covering the subject matter". Charmian is most recently described in Chambers as being “highly thought of by peers”.
As part of the advisory team supporting the Confederation of British Industry’s pension panel on matters of pensions law and policy, Charmian has been actively involved in lobbying for changes to pensions policy on behalf of clients.
Charmian is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
Charmian is also one of the key partners involved in the Manchester Office’s Business in the Community initiative.
