Cristina Rodriguez focuses her practice on complex and commercial litigation including appeals in both federal and state courts. She represents clients from various industries including insurance, banking, real estate development, aviation, pharmaceutical, public utilities and manufacturing. Cristina has experience representing corporations and individual officers, directors and shareholders in corporate governance disputes such as securities class actions, breach of fiduciary duty litigation, shareholder derivative suits, receiverships and judicial dissolution proceedings.
Additionally, Cristina has represented bankruptcy creditors, trustees and defendants in bankruptcy adversary proceedings; advised insurance companies on coverage issues; assisted clients in obtaining favorable settlements to litigation disputes; and assisted clients with domesticating non-US judgments in Florida. Cristina also works closely with clients and lawyers from Latin America in connection with pending litigation in the United States and, in some instances, also involving parallel proceedings outside the United States.
Cristina is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division. She is also a member of the Cuban-American, Federal and American Bar Associations. Cristina is involved with Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. where she serves on the board of directors and works with the “Together We Must 2009 Campaign for Justice” Committee. She also serves on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Cristina is involved in the firm’s Women in Law group and provides legal services pro bono through the Criminal Justice Act Program. She also works with the Lawyers for Literacy and Justice Teaching Initiative Programs.

Defending former officers and directors in bankruptcy adversary proceedings for breach of fiduciary duty and fraudulent transfers involving dairy product and offshore gambling industries.

Representing amici curiae in connection with a challenge to recently-reformed commercial tax structure.

Defending publicly-held companies, officers and directors in shareholder securities fraud class actions and derivative law suits with potential damages ranging from US$5 million to US$100 million in a variety of industries including property, casualty and automobile insurance; big-ticket-item leasing; and apparel manufacturing.

Representing limited partners in a breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty suit against the limited partnership and general partner.

Representing a non-US national in civil and probate-related litigation over assets located in Florida.
- Advising trial counsel for pharmaceutical companies regarding appellate issues and preservation of error in products liability trials.
