Caroline Wort is a senior associate in the Birmingham office and heads up the Birmingham Property Litigation team. She advises on a wide range of commercial landlord and tenant issues and disputes including business tenancy and security of tenure, forfeiture, breach-of-covenants, break options and recovering possession. She also advises and acts on real estate disputes and issues including rights of way, rights of light, modification and variation of restrictive covenants, solicitor and surveyor negligence, adverse possession and nuisance claims.
Caroline is a member of the Property Litigation Association and she lectures on a range of property-related issues to surveyors and clients.
Recent Experience
- Assisting in the application of a vesting order and relief from forfeiture in an historic grade I-listed estate.
- Advising on a professional negligence claim on behalf of a landlord on proceedings for a declaration and rectification.
- Acting for a landlord of office premises on proceedings relating to the operation of tenant's break and rights of light issues.
- Advising development clients on restrictive covenants.
- Acting for national retailers on the management of their properties and their retail property portfolios.
