Anthony is a partner in our financial services litigation team and is based in our Manchester office.

The financial services litigation team acts in relation to a wide range of disputes for banks, building societies, insurers, brokers and asset and invoice finance companies.

Anthony’s clients includes Northern Rock and UKAR, Yorkshire Building Society, Wilmslow Financial Services and Skipton Business Finance. His experience includes secondments to both RBS and HSBC.

One of Anthony’s particular areas of focus is bringing claims in professional negligence against the professional advisers to banks and building societies. These claims are often grouped together into mass mediations that have transformed the way banks and insurance companies are dealing with claims against negligent solicitors and valuers. Anthony also advises in relation to the complex insurance issues that are often encountered when suing professionals.

Anthony acts for commercial lenders and asset finance companies in recovering debts and assets and in relation to collapsed property portfolios. Working alongside the firm’s specialist tax team, Anthony has undertaken tax related litigation defending against VAT claims and recovering taxation from a third party.

Anthony’s work also covers all aspects of the relationship between customer and lender including advising lenders how to deal with insurance mis-selling issues, mistaken payments, the Financial Ombudsman Service and cheque and payment processing complaints.
