Andrew Reeves is a Senior Associate in our litigation practice based in our Leeds office. His particular expertise covers Directors Disqualification, Commercial Agents Regulations, Regulatory Food Hygiene law and contractual disputes relating to the supply of goods and services.

He also specialises in defamation claims where his experience includes both claimant and defendant work for individuals, public and private bodies, and trading and non-trading corporations. Andrew has advised widely in respect of personal and trade libel in the traditional printed media and internet publication.

• Advising and acting for US based multi-national corporate in libel claim in respect of worldwide publications in trade journal and on the internet.
• Advising non-EU domiciled corporate in relation to the company’s agency relationships and the applicability of the UK Commercial Agents Regulations and potential exposure to claims in the UK Courts.
• Advising and acting for executive agency of UK Government Department in relation to the interpretation and enforcement of relevant hygiene legislation applying to licensed premises in the meat industry.
• Acting for private individual in securing apology and damages in libel from UK publishing house in respect of article appearing in 400,000 circulation weekly publication.
• Acting for UK based multi-national corporate in breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation proceedings against telecommunications and integrated computer software supplier.
• Acting for UK insurance broker in defence of libel and malicious falsehood proceedings brought by mutual fund and fund manager.
• Advising UK based manufacturing corporate in resisting claim for contribution towards liquidated damages claim by NHS Trust in respect of late completion of PFI funded buildings and facilities.
• Advising UK based multi-national corporate in substantial breach of contract and loss of business claim brought by Belgian distributor.
