Agnieszka Mencel’s practice includes general corporate, communications, public procurement, and intellectual property and information technology matters.

Her experience includes advising the largest Poland-based broadcasting corporation regarding multiyear litigation in the United States, assisting international companies with their commercial operations in Poland and performing due diligence on real properties and companies. She has also drafted numerous agreements and advised on numerous projects for companies in the telecommunications and energy sectors.

Agnieszka devotes a part of her practice to counseling clients on pro bono matters by representing clients in civil and criminal cases.

Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Agnieszka interned for several large multinational law firms where she was involved in drafting mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreements and other telecom-related projects.

• Counseling Poland-based and international companies on corporate law, establishing and registering companies and providing ongoing corporate legal advice.
• Advising a major mobile operator in Poland on a business transaction with another mobile operator for radio access network sharing and creation of an SPV.
• Providing corporate and regulatory advice to a bid consortium consisting of multinational companies in a public tender organized by Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad concerning implementation in Poland of the Free Flow Heavy Vehicles Electronic Toll Collection System.
• Representing an international bank in negotiation of a set of agreements concerning the construction, maintenance, repair and licensing of an IT system.
• Establishing and registering companies, as well as providing ongoing legal advice.
• Preparing and issuing opinions on agreements regarding the energy and telecommunications sectors.
• Advising Poland-based operators in numerous transactions and projects including MVNOs and mobile television in digital video broadcasting – handheld (DVB-H) standards.
• Advising on an unprecedented sale-and-leaseback transaction in Europe concerning the telecommunications infrastructure.
• Advising a leading Spain-based global renewable energy company operating in the wind energy sector on various corporate, real estate and regulatory matters, as well as in connection with the acquisition and operation of wind farms in Poland.
• Providing litigation counsel for the biggest Poland-based broadcasting corporation in the United States.
• Assisting clients in public procurement procedures including all aspects of the government contracting process.
• Providing legal counsel to a company owned by a US-based manufacturer of industrial explosives and accessories in the process of developing a greenfield investment factory in Poland.
• Advising a leading Asia-based confectionary company on IP/IT related aspects of acquisition of Poland’s best-known confectionary brand in a controlled tender procedure.
• Advising one of the largest Germany-based banks in negotiations with a global IT company regarding the assembly, service and licensing of a computer system including implementation, maintenance and servicing of the system
