Alistair Francis’ practice focuses primarily on UK and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint-ventures and UK public company takeovers. Alistair also has experience in general corporate advisory work. Alistair has acted for clients in a variety of sectors including retail, media, sports and entertainment.

Representative Experience

    • Advising JoJo Maman Bebe Ltd, the specialist multi-channel baby, nursery and maternity retailer, and its founder on a private equity investment from Magenta Partners.
    • Advising on the sale of a US- and UK-based rubber trading operation to a Singapore-based commodities trading firm.
    • Advising the shareholders and management of Asperity Employee Benefits Limited, a provider of integrated employee benefits, on an investment by Inflexion Private Equity.
    • Advising The BSS Group plc on the £583 million recommended cash and share offer by Travis Perkins plc.
    • Advising the shareholders and management of Dwell Retail Limited, a contemporary furniture and home accessories retailer, on an equity investment by Key Capital Partners.
    • Advising Melorio plc, a UK vocational training group, on the £99.3 million recommended cash offer by Pearson plc.
    • Advising EPE Special Opportunities on its £22 million acquisition of a majority interest in the portfolio of private equity investments held by The Equity Partnership Investment Company.
    • Advising Inflexion Private Equity on its investment in Griffin Global Group, the specialist travel business.
    • Advising Live Nation on the £90 million disposal of its portfolio of UK theatre houses to Ambassador Theatre Group.
    • Advising Oxonica plc, a nanotechnology company, on its delisting from AIM.
    • Advising Clear Channel UK on the disposal of its taxi advertising business.
