Alison E. Klingel

Alison Klingel focuses her practice in the area of commercial litigation, representing clients in a wide range of matters in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels. Alison has significant trial experience, having played substantial roles in both jury and bench trials, including class action and mass action trials.
As part of her litigation practice, Alison represents employers in a broad range of employment litigation and administrative matters throughout the United States, including matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, trade secrets, employment contracts, and wage and hour law in both the individual and class action contexts.
Before joining Squire Sanders, Alison was an associate in the Los Angeles office of a global law firm. During law school, Alison was a clerk for Judge Robert P. O’Neill of the California Superior Court and an extern for the Major Crimes Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Representative Experience
- Securing competitor injury standing in a published opinion from the DC Circuit, followed by a preliminary injunction blocking unlawful federal funding.
- Obtaining 24 out of 24 defense verdicts in a nuisance action following an eight-week jury trial.
- Achieving a complete defense verdict after a lengthy bench trial in a nationwide class action.
- Securing complete victory, including punitive damages, in a slander-of-title bench trial.
- Successfully defending an international retailer in multistate wage and hour class action lawsuits.
- Defeating class certification of a wage and hour class action lawsuit against an international retailer.
- Obtaining dismissal in favor of a multistate company in a wage and hour case in California state court.
