Anne Choi Goodwin focuses her practice in the area of litigation, representing clients in a wide range of complex commercial disputes, product liability and intellectual property matters, as well as environmental and toxic tort concerns. Anne has a breadth of experience with large nationwide litigation matters as well as disputes involving non-US entities. In addition to her litigation practice, Anne also serves on Squire Sanders Diversity Committee and a working group of the project management committee.
Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Anne served as a judicial extern for The Honorable Nora M. Manella of the United States District Court, Central District of California.
In addition to her legal expertise, Anne has completed graduate studies in cell and neurobiology, and accordingly possesses a keen understanding of anatomy, vasculature, physiology, biomechanics and nerve function as well as the pathology associated with various body systems.
Anne has been selected each year since 2005 by Thomas Reuters as a Southern California Rising Star, a distinction reserved for those under 40 who are considered by their peers to be at the top of the profession.
Representative Experience
- Serving on the counsel teams for a major occupant safety systems manufacturer and a multinational tire company in product liability actions.
- Representing a pet food manufacturer with respect to multidistrict litigation and class actions throughout the United States arising out of the melamine pet food recall of 2007.
- Obtaining a jury verdict as trial counsel for a foreign manufacturing company involved in a contract dispute over imported goods subjected to antidumping tariffs.
- Representing a bankruptcy creditors committee in connection with claims against several of the world’s largest financial institutions.
- Representing a national trade association in pursuing Lanham Act false advertising claims against the seller of a leading low-calorie sweetener product.
- Representing several multinational companies in environmental matters including the defense of soil and groundwater contamination claims and cost recovery associated with extensive remediation efforts.
