Alexander Akhmetbekov’s practice focuses on corporate matters including advising on general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, business restructuring, litigation and insolvency.

Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Alexander advised a major Russia-based retail company and several Russia-based investment companies on corporate, labor, contract, administrative and intellectual property issues. His experience includes protecting the rights of minority shareholders, and advising on building construction projects and real estate transactions in Russia. He has represented clients in numerous cases in commercial and common courts including Moscow, Moscow Region, Saint-Petersburg, Nadym, Omsk, Kaliningrad, Krassnodar and Rostov-on-Don, as well as, provided assistance in international arbitration issues in Moscow.

• Representing a client in litigation in Moscow in the state commercial courts and courts of common jurisdiction related to debt recovery under loan and surety agreements, insolvency and extension of an investment contract with the Moscow Administration.
• Advising an international corporation in an arbitration relating to recovery of damages under a consortium agreement in the dispute before the International Commercial Arbitration Court (ICAC).
